On Wednesday, 17th September, Positive2Work Skillnet proudly welcomed delegates from Irish Rail, Capital Credit Union, Primeline, GMC, Astraea and Bus Éireann to the start of our Certified Mediation Skills Programme, co-funded by the Government of Ireland, the European Union (www.eufunds.ie), and our network companies.
The energy in the room was fantastic as professionals from across industries came together with one shared goal: to strengthen their ability to manage and resolve conflict effectively in the workplace and beyond.
Building Skills That Matter
Conflict, when left unchecked, can erode trust, waste valuable resources, and impact team wellbeing. This programme takes a proactive approach, equipping participants with the skills to:
- Facilitate constructive dialogue between disputing parties
- Minimise the costs of unnecessary workplace and commercial conflict
- Create more positive, collaborative working environments
- Build self-awareness and confidence in navigating challenging conversations
Through a highly participative and practice-focused approach, delegates will gain not just theoretical understanding, but also practical, hands-on mediation experience drawn from real-world case studies.
Expertise at the Core
Our lead trainers from Acrux are seasoned Mediators and External Adjudicators with the Workplace Relations Commission and the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman. With hundreds of mediators successfully trained across Ireland, the UK, and the USA, the training team from Acrux brings a depth of knowledge and a wealth of lived experience to every workshop.
Participants will explore topics such as:
- Conflict Resolution and Negotiation Theory
- Mediation Principles and Process
- Communication and Mediation Skills
- Legal Rights, Confidentiality, and ADR solutions
By embedding mediation practice into real workplace scenarios, the programme ensures delegates leave with practical skills ready to be applied immediately in their roles.
A Certified Step Forward
On successful completion, participants will earn internationally recognised certification as Mediators, qualifying them for membership with the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland. This professional accreditation is not just a mark of achievement, but a powerful addition to any career toolkit, opening opportunities in workplace, commercial, family, community, and civil mediation.
We are delighted to embark on this learning journey alongside delegates from such diverse and respected organisations, and we look forward to witnessing the transformation they will bring back to their workplaces.
