At the Skillnet Ireland 2023 Spearheading Talent Convention, the panel discussed how to develop talent for a net zero carbon economy. On the expert panel were Brendan Heneghan, Operations Manager, AFRY, Claire McGee, Head of Education and Innovation Policy, Ibec, and Joanne Sheahan, Senior Executive for Climate Action & Sustainability, Enterprise Ireland

Some of the key insights shared by the panel included how sustainability is multifunctional across organisations and is an area of skills growth, with many new jobs and skills coming on stream.

SMEs are looking for a roadmap to help direct them towards the priority sustainability skills their business needs. Ultimately, to solve the climate challenge no organisation or agency can do it alone. It needs a public-private partnership.

Positive2Work Skillnet look forward to listening to what our member companies need in terms of skills development to successfully meet the challenges of sustainability within their businesses.
